Brass Quick Connects & Saltwater

My husband :at_wits_end: left a brass quick connect on the end of a pump mixing in the Rubbermaid tub of saltwater. Brass is Copper and Zinc. How $<%#*D am I? It has corroded to create rust.

Unless you have access to a really good copper test kit, like a colorimeter, then dump the water. No long term problems though.
