This week I will be upgrading my 14G Biocube with the Nanocustoms 3.24 upgrade from Nanotuners. I have already preped my extra hood and am very excited. I ordered the R2 Moonlight upgrade as well. Any comments or suggestions from anyone who has done this upgrade? Also if you need advice about the stock fans (CRAP) that come with the Biocube. If you go online and look for any fan that is 50X50X15 mm since this is the replacement size. Almost any you will find will be a 3-pin. The Biocube uses a 2-pin and you can find adapters from 2-pin to 3-pin very easy online as well. I did upgrade those noisy fans with no problem. By doing so, I saw a constant 3 degree temp drop. I personally bought the evercool 50X50X15 mm fans and increased to 14.7 CFM per fan over the measily 8 or so the stock fans do. I saved about $10 going the route I did versus using the Nanotuners constant on upgrade. You do get a little more fan noise than before but well worth the little extra noise. Please give me any ideas on the upgrade for the lighting or if you have questions about the fans and how to do it.

Thanks,
Kevin

Well the install is complete and let me tell you......STUNNING! The R2 Moonlights were a little tricky but overall the install was overall easy. I would overall give it a 10/10! It took about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs total. If anyone is wanting to attempt this install and need help, write me. Or if you want this install and do not have the time or tools, I have an extra 14G Biocube hood now and would be willing to sell you the hood with the upgrade. I will post pics of the completed install soon.

Kevin

P.S. It is well worth the money, WELL WORTH IT!!!!!!

Cool, I was waiting to see pics. Do you have a sump too? If so can I see pics of how you plumbed it?

Thanks. Did you say you have an extra 14gal BioCube hood for sale too?

I do not have a sump. Yes I do have an extra hood and willing to set it up for someone that wants to upgrade a 14G Biocube. I am going to take pics when all the lights are on in a bit. Do you have any ideas for a really good skimmer that will fit in the first chamber?

Here are the new pics of my cube. http://www.maast.org/forums/album.php?albumid=36

Everything is still adjusting. You will have to sort through to find the new vs. the old. But I am pretty sure you can see the difference. Tell me what cha think.
