help with skimmer

I have a hob red sea pro skimmer, I set it up around 11 today am. And all it does is make pumping noise and foam, but not in the collection cup, the water will not successfully suck in continuously, it just kind of pumps up and down, any help ? Please

My skimmer takes some time before the bubbles move into the collection cup.

You also have to find the right adjustment.

Oh, ok. So I just leave it be? I mean its rated for a bigger tank then what I got, I have a 30 could that be the problem? Well guess ill just leave it be?

Size of tank should not matter. Just make sure the you have it adjusted correctly.

It began to skim last night. :) does anyone know if this is a good skimmer?
