What type of coral is this? I was told it was a Goniopora or an alveopora. No clue..

Looks like a Gonipora, but severely receded.

Looks like a brain coral to me. Does it have small clear tentacles that come out at night? If so it is a brain coral.

No Tentacles. But now the critters are starting to come out.
I was hoping you guys wouldn't say gonipora. They are hard to keep right?

its a gonipora imo. very hard to keep also imo. ive had 1 lasted about 9 months

Yep that's a goniopora for sure now that you can see the polyps coming out. They'll extend out into a huge beautiful ball and you'll be quite impressed. Enjoy it while you got it and ya never know when somebody ends up with a fluke and ends up thriving.

Agree with above on the id of this coral. You should ask big bird about care. Last I remember he had a really nice one in ms big birds 110.

Get with bigbird - for some reason, he's been able to keep them alive.

looks a lot like my gonipora aka flowerpot coral
good luck mines been doing well for about 2 months i'll see how it goes
