I have some live rock that has some purple spores growing on them and these spores seem to be moving to other rock. Are these purple spores a good thing or bad thing?

If not good, how do i eliminate?

Can you post a photo? I have a purple sponge that has been on a rock for the last 5 years and it hasn't moved at all. Don't know if this could be the same thing or not.

Frank, at Awana Pets believes the purple growth on my live rocks are in fact sponges. I just cant believe how quickly they are spreading on my live rock. As stated before, i have at least 20 to 30 small sponges on 1 rock. Is this okay??

sounds like sponge, but pics would help.
Best think is to upload pictures to photbucket and resize them to 640x480 (something like that anyways). The img file can be directly pasted into your post.
