My wife noticed our tree coral has a branch that looks like it is breaking off. The surrounding area is white, but healthy looking and the rest of the tree is as healthy as ever. The tree coral has grown over the past three weeks. It is reproducing or fraging or splitting itself like an aneomie? I have looked on the internet and MAAST posts and can not find info.

I woke up one morning to find the branch, that had been splitting, was no where to be found. The area that it broke from was nicely colored and appeared healthy. Eventually, I found the branch in the back of the tank. Beside the fact it was laying on the back fo the tank, the branch looked great.

I took the frag, glued it to a piece of rock. I was worried at first becase the branch shriveled to a small purple bump. I thought for sure it was gone. The next day the frag was more pink-purple and stretching itself out.:applause:

My first coral reproduction....Cool

The frag, broke loose but again appears to be healthy. I tried a new gluing technique I read about and it seems to be working. If it comes loose I will try the needle and fishing line technique....More to come

okay.super glue did not work AGAIN..I put a thin stick through it and placed some clear pony tail bands (my daughters) around it. Seems much better. I did not know how tough the skin is on the tree coral...it took some force to punch the stick through.... more to come.

Cool! My colt coral just threw 2 branches just like yours did. They are both in the back of my tank under the live rock where I can't get to them. I'll try to see if I can flush them out with a power head or something.

Knowing what I know now, it's funny that they are both fragging at the same time since we must have got them about the same time!
