I was starting to have a problem with GHA in some areas of my tank so about 3 weeks ago I bought a Mexican Turbo snail...well as of this morning all the areas are gone!!! YEAH! So now the question is...do I need to do anything to feed this guy?

I would say feed him or get rid of him. Nothing stinks worse than a dead snail....well besides an anemone. I put one in my tank to eat some nuisance algae last week, Instead he cleaned my entire side of red micro algae I had been grooming and encouraging to grow.

How large a tank? I had 10 in my 135g for 2 years with no ill effects. As a matter of fact, I had a small RBTA attach to one and taxi-rode all over the tank. I wish i had got a pic of that.
I say leave him and you will never have another outbreak.

Right now he is in my 29g BC. I also have some other small snails in there. I'm currently setting up my 90g and will probably move him into that once it's fully up and running but that will be a few months from now.

It shouldn't matter. The only thing they ever did in my tank was knock frags off.

I wasn't expecting much when I got mine since I've heard mixed reviews but I've been pleasantly surprised. I just have the 1 turbo in my 29G BC and he has made a heck of difference. No more algae!! He does knock things over at times but I'll let that go since he does a great job of keeping the tank clean and algae free!!

I purchased three turbos for my 30g. Within a week they were all dead-assassinated by my Port A snail. It was the first time it has ever damaged anything. Now, I wonder what kind of snail it really is?

I have a turbo snail with stripes. he is bigger than a plum smaller than a peach with a big black face. got him from marine depot. I bet he could beat up your port a snail.

Likely a predatory whelk! It wouldn't matter how big that turbo is, a whelk could whip it like a Sooner on a Raider.

I dont know, I have been training him. Glued a big ole rock to his shell to build up his stamina.
