On some recent live rock i purchased from a member there was a dead stony coral with it, it was all brownish white and had no polyps. I threw it under some mh acentic lighting and in an area of good flow in my tank, and now only one, but at least one, tip of a branch has turned bright blue with green polyps coming out of it. Should i cut this tip off and let it heal or just leave it on there? What do you guys advise? thanks!

if it is doing well (growing and not receding), then i would leave it alone.

The dead area will never come back alive but in time the new growth may cover the dead area. As mentioned, I'd leave it in place.
