Rod's Reef Black Onyx True Percula Clownfish Pair...

Check out my new babies...I got them on MAAST from Kjerde last week. They came with a green bubble tip anemone attached to a large piece of live rock loaded with hair algae that my fish are enjoying.

These are pics from the first day in my care...the anemone hadn't yet opened all they way...so I'll have to do new pictures just for him at a later date.

Sorry for the quality of pics...I just wanted to share how cool these fish are...oh, they are breeding too...or I should say feeding my reef. The babies were gone in less than an hour or so from hatching the first night!

Rob those are sweet. Your blennies better watch out from getting zapped from the anemone while eating that algae.

Looking good. Those are one of my favorite types of clowns.

Yeah, well it's one way to keep them in check. Actually I got rid of my blennies and all I have left is a small Mollie Miller Blenny from Port A.

Looking good. Those are one of my favorite types of clowns.

I love their markings, I also love their under bellies how the stripes don't wrap all the way around. They truely are amazing fish to watch, wish I could take better pics to capture their true beauty!

Thanks for the comments.

Nice, Very nice pair and the are hosting! I can only hope that my cinnamon realizes what the anemone is for.

Thanks Ray!

Yeah, they are a happy little pair, I had a huge carpet anemone that they started to host but I got rid of it before they could decide because I would absolutely die if it would have eaten the smaller male clown...

This decission was also made quickly after the carpet anemone ate my scopas tang (he was small, but still...you can't eat tangs dude!). The carpet was sold to a MAAST member adding it to a small species specifc classroom tank.

Dude, perfect excuse to come by next week and get a coral trade going. Thx for the compliment Gary.

Got eggs again and only one week after the last batch just hatched.

Really considering setting up a harvesting tank to rear the clowns...possibly over the next couple of months....not sure though.

I was thinking of running a small bio-cube of some sort next to the main tank and just loop it in the plumbing....

Beautiful fish, thanks for the pics. That is really cool that they're still laying eggs.

My anemone completed a split last night at lights out! :)

It began before the lights went out and it was complete when I woke up. It only traveled about 4 inches and stayed on the same rock.

I'm hoping it doesn't move because my Koralias are still on and I need to cover them with panty hose.

I'm pretty stoked considering I have only had it for a couple of weeks. It started to split the first day then stopped and acclimated itself. The once it was looking huge it split and now I have two dinky GBTA's.

So my wife just called me (I'm at work working:) ) to tell me that the main BTA is splitting again!!! WOW! So super stoked now!!! Two clones in 24 hours! Hope it doesn't stress itself out too much!
