Hi
I have a Hamilton 400w MH retrofit with 2x96 pc's. The reflector I have is a white standard reflector. I want to add as much shimmer to my tank as possible. I have seen aluminum reflectors or spider reflectors, but I am not sure if I can use them or how to set them up. Are they worth the work? I was also thinking if I could make my own and save some money. I don't need the single end socket. I could just used the one I have. What do you guys and girls think?

There are plans around to build your own Lumenarc reflectors, seems pretty easy but I haven't tried it.

Ace helped me build templates for some Lumenarc reflectors awhile back. It is fairly easy once you have a template. After all the time I put into it and materials, I probably would have just bought my own!

Heres a few photos when I built my own:

Standard "bat wing" reflectors are super cheap, maybe $30 or less new. You could easily swap your white reflector for those.
