by plants do you mean Mangroves, Macro algae? sure as long as you have the room and a fuge to place them in

I am looking to at macro alge. I do not a have a refugium. Just a sump that has 2 compartments. One for the return and one that has my skimmer and is hooked to the pump. Can you put macro alge in the sump return even if the water is flowing?
