do i need to cure this live rock?

My mother gave me about 10 pounds of live rock. It has been sitting out for about three weeks. Can I just stick it in my sump and let it cure or do I need to do something different?

I would not put it in anything connected to your tank. Place it in a container with saltwater and cure it that way. Alot of stuff maybe inside the rocks that you want out before you stick it in your tank.
