currently running a tide pool ( i hate it) want to switch to a reall sump have the equipment has chambers for both rock and sand. i have dry somewhat live sand and small amount of live rock do i need to let the sand and rock cure more b4 i switch out the equipment?

any advice will help.

depends on how much you have in proportion to the amount of water and livestock you have in your tank. If you have 10lbs of sand and 10lbs of liverock for a sump for a 100gallon tank, you spike isnt going to be as great as a if you were dropping it into a sump for a 55.

good point it is a 75 gal w/ prob 10lb of live land that has been sitting dry and i am gona go buy some rock today. have 80+lbs lor rockim the tank.

It will be fine to do all at once. It would basically be like doing a water change and adding some new sand and rock. i would imagine you seeing a spike unless the rock itself has a lot of die off.
