You can get a new UV Sterilizer here http://www.aquariumhardware.com/catalog/13-WATT-UV-STERILIZER--488.html for 55.00 and the shipping is cheap. I have not used this UV Sterilizer but I have some of the other items and have been happy with them.

I use a UV sterilizer in my new 180 for control of the film algea. It cut my glass cleaning in half. Also, helps cut back on parasite issues with newer fish introductions. Hopefully evertything will stabilize in another month or two and I can cut it off and only burn it every other month or so...

really so once you have the water stablilzed you only run it evey other month? thats cool i didnt realize that i figured i would be "burning" through bulbs.

Thats my plan. I have a Red Sea Max and thats what i do on it with no problems at all. Matter of fact, I haven't run it now for almost 3 months on the RSM.
