here is some pics, it is the dark where the purple isnt.... Its hard to see in these pics but it is a hairlike webbing over the rocks, most cleanup crew i got just goes over it and dosnt eat it.

It looks like cyano to me. Might need more flow and less phosphates. It helps if you physically remove it. When I had the problem I would use a powerhead to get it off and then catch it with a net. You could also probably use a turkey baster.

cool, I have been blowing it off with a powerhead and letting it get into my filter then cleaning it out... Some of it is on there pretty tough though. I think I'll scrub it off with a scotch brite utility brush before I put it in my new tank... should be plenty of flow in there... Thanks a lot

when i scrub my rocks to get the algae off i get the wifes toothbrush to get it off. Then put the brush back of course.

lol thats funny...
anyway its been in there since i got the rocks, the tank is growing coraline on the glass so i'm pretty sure its decently well established....
i figured it would go away when i added my powerheads and a cleanup crew but ooh well, when i move it to my new tank i will brush it off there and see what happens.... thx

whether it is cyano or algae, be sure to keep your nutrients under control and you will not have that issue. I get a nice algae bloom and some darker algae growing on my rocks if I get too generous feeding the tank. I know that when I do overfeed the tank, I do a water change soon thereafter, which tends to help out a lot.
