Ok so my tank has been up and running for acouple of days straight, and the micro bubble are just shooting out of the returns. In the return sction of the sump, I dont see any micr bubbles, and I dont see any in the clear part of the return line, but when water comes out of the loc-line returns it seems to be almost pure white with bubbles, filling the tank. the water level in the sump is half way, and the return is a bulkhead at the bottom. Anyone have any ideas?

any leaks along the return path? maybe sucking air? my return has a small hole to break any siphon during power outage.

Skimmers give off micro bubbles. My octopus does and I can barely see them unless im down low with my face against the glass of my sump. These bubbles do get into my display but they are not to bad.

is the return pump internal or external? if internal run it through vineger for a day or 2 then clean and see if that works if external it might be a bad seal around the impeller. or you can try running that through vineger as well.

if you have it, try using your valve to slow the flow of the return line. Start at closed, then increase the flow slowly and see when the bubbles start.

one of my locline returns did the same thing for awhile. It was sucking air past the threads where the section of loc line screwed to tthe return pipe. I put some silicone on the threads and screwed it back in . bubbles gone

after you check for any leaks and you still have bubbles, SPONGE will be your best friend to bolck those bubbles.

i have an external pump, and I see micro bubbles coming in the tank before it every starts in full cyclew. meaning the bubbles are coming in before water even hits the sump from an off position. I think it is the locline, or there is a small leak at the connection to the pump, one drip every 2 hours or so.

I dont even have the skimmer running. My gate valve mod for that arrives tomorrow, and will be installed tomorrow night or wednesday.
