does anyone know what kind of an anenome this is? i know the picture isn't the greatest, but my camera doesn't get much better. it's green with a green mouth and pink tips. it's more than doubled in size since i got it, but it's still only about the size of a quarter when open. it must be hardy if i can keep it alive.

Never had one.... but hope it is not a manjo anemone. I have heard they can spread like wildfire and if not kept in check can cause a tank to be taken down.

That looks like a majano to me. Nothing a little bit of kalkwasser won't fix. :)

no, it's not a majano. i have those too, but i kinda like them. i only keep a couple alive and kill off any new ones i see. those have pink centers with green tips. the anenome has green base/foot, green center and pink tips.

cool. i was hoping it was a "good" one. i knew it couldn't be to fragile because i'm not the best at keeping anenomies alive, and i've had this one for almost 4 mo now. i've heard that the bta's are one of the most hardy.

It's a Majano. My friend has about 20 of them in his 240g tank. He likes the way they look and he won't oust them. I guess if you like them too you can keep it.:) But be prepared, they will kill any coral they touch and can reproduce like bunnies.

i have majano as well, but this one doesn't look like those. i've been keeping my majano in check and only letting a couple live. i like them as well.

Looks like majano to me as well, I had some with the pink/red tips also. Kill it now. ;)

Probably a majano, but they don't always spread like crazy. If you like the little thing then leave it there and just keep an eye on it, if it starts sprouting little ones too quickly then leave them all off. I had one that looked like a majano years ago and it only spawned about 4 new ones over the course of several years and they all stayed right in the same couple square inches, no problems.

i was looking online and saw a posting of this same one. someone was calling it a tulip anenome. i'm not sure if that's different from a majano. i did a search for tulip anenome and all i got was the tulip flower. i think it's cute, so i'm gonna keep it. at least for now.
