Ballast burnt up to my compact lights. Then the power went out and spilled 20 gallons out of my 125. Great day!! The ballasts are 2x 96 watts I don't really even know where to get these? Does anyone have one lieing around collecting dust.

Jebo/Oddysea/Aquatraders? Coralife? Tell the truth.

Replace it with a a Fulham Workhorse7 ballast. It's super easy, I've down it several times. I'm trying to remember the vendor that used to sell them here at MAAST. Coral Reef Bazaar, I think.

They are called SUNPAC from a company called Current. That is what it says on them. They are retro fit it says and they are for 2 96 watt bulbs.

I would be a little concerned about your system spilling 20 gals of water.. you system should be set up to not lose any water when the power goes out.. also I agree with mike.. go to a workhorse

Not sure how all companies work with water spills. Ice Cap made me pay 1/2 price of new ballast when I sent mine in for h2o damage. Said their warranty didn't over h2o spills. Couldn't complain too much since it was my fault for designing the system that way. Now all my ballast are above the tank.

May want to check Current's warranty policy. I've emailed Current in the past and got a response same business day.

And I am defiantly not a plumbing genius. My system is as simple as it gets I have the stuff needed to plumb it by I really don't know where to start. I have a huge pump I am not using. I am running all the circulation from a submersible pump in the fuge. This pump is all my down flow can handle. My tank is kind of a mess right now. I am not sure how much actual filtering my fuge is doing at all. I have a protein skimmer that works some times. I know I need more live rock. But I am starting out small.

No, the ballast didn’t get wet; they just started smoking and smelling like a skunk. The overflow was unrelated just happened in the same day. I am running 1/4 lights right now and I don’t think anybody likes it. The ballasts are old they came with the used tank I bought.

This is them I guess I just have to buy two more unless the lights and stuff are interchangable.

I bought this silly tank it already had 2 ballasts and the cords to the lights. Now that the ballast has burnt up, I want to buy a new one. Will the Workhorse 7 come with new cords that run between the ballast and bulbs or will I need to purchase new ones.
Are these universal? I have 4 compact 96W bulbs. The double tube ones.
