I got it!!!! I've been asking for this tank for 10months and I got it!!!!

It was a TUNZE MACNA 40x40x35cm 15gallon promo tank apparently 1 of 4 or 5 built. Came with the stand. Excuse the cell phone pics. Now I can't decide if I want to drill or what because the stand is kinda narrow to really fit a sump in there, I think a 5.5 might fit though.

See if Bruce or anyone over at Tunze can tell you if the glass is tempered or not. If its not, I'd drill it for a sump.

Just as much risk as dilling an ada except you can replace an ada.

Really go whole hog and drill it for a closed loop! You'd have the world's only nano closed loop! :shades:

What was that tank made for, i.e.- what'd they have in it at MACNA?

There's lots of those running cannister filters where they are drilled twice on the bottom...some even have submerged lighting and fuges too lol.

I just got my tank drilled by Ace (Hobogato), So I'll have it all plumbed this weekend hopefully... I used the glass-holes.com 1inch super nano overflow and 1/2inch return kit.. these go through the back pane instead of the bottom of the tank.

I sprayed the back wall that is drilled for the glass-holes.com overflow and return black with krylon fusion for plastic..
I'm still waiting on it to dry and then I can screw in the bulk heads and connect all the plumbing..

Should be running and circulating water within 48hrs.

I'm still trying to source a mag5 pump, mount the light for the turf scrubber in the stand, and make an arm to hang the pendant light over the tank with EMT conduit.

Most of the pvc has been glued already so I'm almost done with that part.

ok so I lied, no pump yet so I'm not done plumbing lol..

The paint is drying on the 3/4inch EMT conduit pendant hanging arm right now.
Here's some pics of the tank drilled with the back painted black and the return and overflow attached. Yes, they're ghetto pics, I don't have a digital camera so I used the phone camera.

I started scaping today.. hopefully I can get something nice out of the rocks I tossed in there.. I really don't want to do anymore digging out of my rubbermaid tub lol...

All the foam from stirring the livesand bed has gone away..

I may set it up during the winter break from school.

I may do more fine adjustments to the scaping.. I dunno. The last pic is weird... there is actually space between the two rocks on the left and shows an opening under the big rock... its a cave..

So I filled the tank with sand, rock, and water on the first... got my bloom today with the nitrate spike (12.5ppm), the 6th... awesome 6 day cycle lol...

I'm glad I used established sand and rock that was in a rubbermaid for 2 months..
