So I'm watching TV and need to change the channel but I can't find the remote, finally get up off my duff and look under the couch... No remote but right there under the couch what did I find? My interest in the hobby! It's been gone for so long and I didn't know where it went. So I rummaged through my spare PVC box and managed to build my entire closed loop out of spare parts on hand and most of my drain, trip to Home Depot took care of the rest and now my tank has fresh sand in it and I'll be firing up the RO/DI later this week and pulling the live rock out of the cooker in the garage, not even sure if it's still got water in there because it's been in the barrel for like a year and a half but I know the air pump is still running because I can hear it.

Anyhow, here's a few shots of my 60x30 footprint 190 gallon. It's not pretty yet and I've got some wood work to do and gotta buy some lights, but once it's got water and rock in it I think the rest will fall in to place. There are no holes in the back of the tank, everything I've drilled comes up through the bottom, which is why it's got sand and not a BB tank like I usually run.
EDIT: For size reference that closed loop intake is 2" and the outputs are 1"

Now I get to kick myself for having a 15 gpd RO/DI unit. LOL...

Well the tank is about 3/4 full so I'm guessing another day for the tank and another 1/2 day for that big old sump/fuge. Good grief I hate having a slow RO/DI... On the bright side that RO is putting out 6 TDS water so I left the DI cart empty for now cuz I think I can live with 6 TDS no problem. I'm hoping to pour the salt in and some live rock before I head to the coast for some fishing this weekend so it'll be mixing and clear by the time I get back so I can arrange some rock and take some pics. I've already got the closed loop running and the water isn't horribly milky like I remember it always being with the Southdown before so that's good. Still have not ordered lights, but looking at dual 400 watt lamps with Lumenarc knock-off reflectors and electronic ballasts. Wasn't somebody around here making the knock-off Lumenarcs? If so please lemme know who it was so I can hit them up.
