Well I finally got rid of the red slime and now everything looks great. I thought I would share a few pics of my 3 month old 29g BC.

You need a Hydor deflector on your cube. It works wonders!

i agree with Kkralicek....i have one on mine, and love it....it will blow off after some time, but nothing one drop of glue wont fix. and 15 bucks for changing water movement is a great deal. here is a link for ya if you want to take alook.

The tank looks great. And I am just finish up purple slime on my 14 gal BC. A switch to RO/DI water changed everything. I hafta agree with the statement above mine, a deflector is awesome and one drop, well maybe two drops of super glue keeps it tight (sorry no qoute ).

Thanks guys, I'm pretty proud of it! I've never heard of a deflector before. What would I attach it too? Right now I'm only using the stock outflow and a nano powerhead. From reading the description on the link, it sounds like it attaches to a different kind of pump than I'm currently using.

It attaches to the outflow from the Biocube. Basically rotates the water movement creating a small wave effect. I had one on mine and really liked the water movement.

The only con I have found to them is that they have a dead spot close to the wall under the deflector. Nothing a nano Korilla won't fix. Also if you get a little stronger pump, the Hydor is supreme!

I had noone to ask when upgrading the pump to a bigger size(life before MAAST was much darker days hehe). So I will tell ya this, I switch to a 295gph powerhead and it was almost too much. I had to rearrange the corals a few times. I tried mushrooms and other non-current lovers in the dead spot and they seem happier.

That is why I went with the Rio 210gph. I think it is the Rio 800 for people looking for a model number. Everything loves it. I have a 14gal Biocube and it is just right. Not too much but a little more than stock. I feel it is the best choice for the 14gal Biocube and it is no bigger or smaller than the stock pump.
