So i need some aquascaping advice. I have a 36 gallon corner that I am planning on turning from a cheap and basic FOWLR to a still pretty cheap (I wish) nice looking reef. I now have about 27 pounds of rock. 17 base, 10 live. 7 of the base was bought at the Red Crest pet shop in Boerne and is terrible, I may get rid of it. Anyway, I am sick of the pile of rock look I have.

I am hoping to fix up the aquascape with a minimalistic look, I think they also call it zen of bonsai.

I wanted to do a foam wall but the corner tank will not work well with one. So I was thinking maybe I'd do some pillars.

How would I do this? Should I make a structure underneath and then zip tie rock, or just stack rock and foam it all together? I really am at a loss here so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Gel superglue works the best. If something happens it isn't to hard to take the rocks apart but strong enough to hold everything together. Make sure you get the gel super glue though. It isn't toxic to anything in the aquarium but it cures within 30 seconds under water. Furthermore zip ties look ugly and the glue residue you may see will look like rock within a weeks time.

Best of luck!

yup u can definitely use the epoxy glue, that is really good too, or u can also drill a hole through(or as deep as u can) the rocks and insert and fiber glass rod with the same thickness of the drilled hole they sell them a HD for about $2.00/rod approx 3ft long, u can usually find them in the section where they have the reflectors to put on driveways or on the "For Sale" signs for the houses. Just make sure u use the drill bit made for rock or masonary cause if not u'll just end up breaking the bit.
