Last night i just bought myself (b-day and early x-mas present) my 2nd tank 210 gal aquarium..:applause:.... Now i need to get some ideas for building a nice aquarium stand for it and was wondering if anyone can help with providing pictures of tanks of fellow maasterds. Sure other maastards could benefit from it and get some ideas as well.. Your imput will greatly be appreciated.... RICKY

I had this stand made to replace my current in-wall 215g tank-stand. I had one built made of wood which I found so hard to work with when it came to maintenance cleaning. I wanted something I can have access from every angle to keep my pumps running clean and tear downs if I need for future upgrades. those were a few mistakes I overlooked when I had the current tank stand built.
Metal Stand is 2" schedual 80 PowderCoated in White with 3/4 Bolts for Leveling with 5/8 oak top. still in the works becuase I would like more flow just dont know were I want the drilled holes. Hope it helps...

Ace,
I particularly like the 2nd from the bottom. Nice modern design.

those are all really nice stands from all of u alls.... i went to the website that peter(ping) sent me, i found it very useful as i was able to come up with some really good ideas.. something similar to what hobogato in his last picture has or like klondlike has... but when i had the carpenter come over to my house to look at the tank i was very suprised with the cost to make a tank stand that would be (210gal) 72 in L x 24 in W x 34 in. tall with oak wood... he said a price of approx. $3,000 - $5,000 :Timeout:... so now i am thinking of maybe try to make it myself..i have no experience what so ever in wood works, it would be my first attempt ever. seems kind of easy but don't know if i should go ahead.

there are a number of people on here that can help you. Hobogato, Ace made my stand for a fraction of that. You first attempt at carpentry should not support almost 1 ton of water and glass. not smart.

My stand only cost about $250, that's wood, molding, stain, finish, and the $140 it cost me to have the doors build professionally. $3000 is way out of line for what you want.

you are looking at about $450 just for materials for that last one i posted. that was a 180, so same footprint as yours i beiieve ( 6' X 2' ). you can expect to pay at least $1200 to have it built by someone - but it should cost no where near $3000. of course, that was all pine and whitewood - not oak. that would drive the price up considerably.

I like the open idea of this one that I have. You can always trim it out more to looks.

Cliff's (Jaded's old stand) is a nice design. I copied it when I did my stand for my 55g. Large front opening to make maintenance a whole lot easier. You just have to engineer the vertical and horizontal supports to carry a larger load with the wider opening.

well finally tomorrow i will be traveling to zapata, tx (since home construction and remodifications is about 3 times cheaper than Laredo, TX. where i live) about 50 miles south of Laredo and will be meeting with about 4 differrent guys (contractor, carpenter) and will be getting an estimate of the stand for my tank. then find some here locally from Laredo and compare, then the big decision and to who will i choose to make my stand.... well see what happens. later i will let u guys know about the ideas that i gathered for the stand. since i really don't know how i will try to post up the pictures that i have gathered from differrent stands to come up with mine
