Anyone grow these guys under t5's or are they limited to halides only. Haven't kept anemones in a while and only have experience w/BTA's.

I would say keep it in a shallow tank. 18" to 22" / Typical 75 gallon is 22"

cory, make sure you do lots of research and make sure your tank is ready. ritteri can be one of the most difficult anemones to keep. not to mention, they can get huge....

I know a few people on RC that keep their magnifica under T5's in a shallow tank. Do you already have it or are you doing research before you buy one?

This is for my wife's tank so it's purely research for now.
The 60 gallon cube tank's already cycled and NO3 levels are undetectable, which I've read is critical to the health of these guys. Got her a decent set up with about 70 lbs of live rock, Euroreef Skimmer, and 4x24W Tek fixture. Only one lonely female ocellaris clown is in the tank for now.
As far as size, yeah I knew they increase in size multiple times over. I remember a huge one Gallery of Pets used to have in the mid 90's. But, my wife will inherit my 90 gallon next year, so I can get a 200+ gallon room divider tank like your's Ace.

I wouldn't get one...
With that said I have one under 500W of halide. It seems to be enough. The anemone has outlived almost everything else. It even survived a tank meltdown. I really like it. It is tiny in the morning and about 16" when the lights come on.
But as was said before, it's recommended not to get one.

Yeah, friend was telling me that the 6 month mark is extremely hard to get these guys past. Fell in love with them years ago after seeing one on the cover of The Reef Aquarium vol 2.
I'm just looking for somthing different from the normal BTA's, altantic carpets, sebaes and long tentacles.

Yeah but in the end a good long tent, not a condy, looks almost exactly the same. I've seen several good quality long tents at the shops and I had to look at the foot to make double dangded sure it wasn't a Mag.. Mine has been kickin it old school for about 2 1/2 years now.
Wish I could say yes or no about the T5's. I can say with absolute certainty that it could really care less about the 200w of PC light that it receives before and after the halides. IMO I feel there really is no difference between T5 and PC. I know it'll start a fight, but honestly (and we all know it's true) a PC bulb is just a T5 twice as long and doubled back onto itself.. You might be able to create a little bit of difference if you have the best ballast and TEK reflectors with bulbs crammed in tight but most folks simply do not have that nice of a T5 set up.

I guess I'm being a little picky. One of my first tanks had a beautiful green and purple tip BTA that had a deep maroon base. So I guess I'm comparing to that too much.
Not getting in on the fight about t5's vs pc's. Personally I'm old school halide and vho.

If I could frag it for you I would. I know someone that took a knife to a Mag and it did not come out well..
