I saw man vs. wild ask about schooling fish and my question is this. Does anyone have experience with diff. kinds of chromis schooling together? Do they need to be the same kind to school?

I saw man vs. wild ask about schooling fish and my question is this. Does anyone have experience with diff. kinds of chromis schooling together? Do they need to be the same kind to school?

From my experience they need to be the same kind and in most cases introduced to the aquarium at the same time.

I had a schooling group of 5 green chromis and 2 months later thought I would add two more. Well, not a god idea because they all fought and I was left with 3 out of the 7. I'm sure many people have had luck in various scenarios..but that's my experience.

Interesting because I would've tried it too. Better that they were some of the cheap fish!
