I need help adjusting my calcium reactor. My readings on August 31 were alk 3.0 meq/l, calcium 360, and ph of 7.9. Today my alk is 2.25, calcium 340 and ph 8.0. How do I tweak my reactor to make the calcium and alk rise together? The reactor ph is 6.6, effluent alk is 7.75 meq/l, and the flow is 12 mil/min. I also add kalk to my topoff water. I usually put 2 teaspoons per gallon of r/o. The ato puts in about 1 to 2 gallons a day. Would I have to adjust the calcium and alk with supplements to get the correct level and then re-adjust the reactor?

hopefully somebody else will chime. Your calcium reactor can only MAINTAIN your calcium level that you set it at. You have to use supplement to raise the calcium level and then the reactor will try to keep it at that level. You can only teak PH and alk from the reactor but not alk and calcium.
here is how i adjusted my GEO 612..
increase BPM= high effleunt alk and low PH
increase effleunt drip= high PH and low alk.

i raised kalkwasser dose to get hiher alk, but that will raise PH too, so raise it slowly.
..hope that help.

Every time I adjust the calcium and alk in my tank to normal it eventually goes down. The reactor does slow the process down tremendously. Maybe I have the wrong idea of what a reactor does. I thought you set it and the calcium level stayed constant. Perhaps it just makes your adjustments smaller and more infrequent.
