Hello to all. My name is Justin and I signed up with MAAST yesterday. I have already gotten use out of the Equipment Forum as some of you may already know. I have a 58 gal w/ a lemon peel angel, undulate trigger, choco star, condy anem, and a curly q anem. I also have a 14 reef tank that's slowly coming along. It started out great then has had a small crash and cyano outburst due to a tremendous overfeeding problem. I was astounded to find out 1/2 cubes of food being dumped in every day :Timeout: ! With the 14 gal biocube I have:
candy cane,
too many green stars,
a tonga rock loaded with purple shrooms,
purple gorgonia (my pride n joy),
yellow polyps (not doing so hot),
clasping xenia (almost dead),
neon green buttons (slow to grow)
and a disc shaped brown thing growing rapidly that popped up after I bought some brown buttons.
I got into this 2 years ago and knew NOTHING about aquariums. I bought a tank , decided on saltwater and became increasingly intrigued and the know-how needed to be successful. So now I am here hoping to meet some other people in this um hobby, no, maybe a way of life.

Welcome to MAAST! You'll find that this is one of the most helpful, friendly forums around. Oh, and while you're here, since you're local to the area I'd highly recommend signing up for a charter membership; the little amount of money it costs will MORE than be made up for in savings at your LFS and through orders with MAAST sponsors. I've saved HUNDREDS just in the months I've been a member.

Welcome to MAAST and watch your Undulated trigger, great fish just tends to be very aggressive at times. My brother in-law had one and it killed his Niger Trigger that was twice the Undulated's size. My brother in-law was so mad he quit feeding it for three months and it lived on the algae that grew in the tank until he sold it back to the fish store and what is more amazing is the Undulated got fat eating the algae.

it lived on the algae .
Funny you say that,
I resorted to feeding lemon the seaweed by hand because the Udulate would eat it off the clip.
Aggression: Very true. I have had him for a year and he is finally showing aggression. . He recently began attackinge the brush I use on the rocks when I get near his home but he is still not fish aggressive. I am undecided on which fish I would need to swap out. In a perfect world I would have the room and money to keep both... But as it is not I am stuck between a live rock and a glass wall.
