Hello all,

Ihave some aiptasia in my 14 gal bio cube and i got some aiptasia-X used it on them witch is very cool to watch but now they are back and they are clear with a hint of white and it has been about 3 weeks since i treated them is this normal? If i get a copperband butterfly will it hurt it when it eats them?

I'd try some peppermint shrimps first, your tank is too small for copper band. Plus the copperband would die if after all the aptasias are gone.

I understand it is too small, i will be moving the copperband in 3 weeks to my 200 gal Acrylic tank. , what are good things to feed them after they eat it all if i get one for the big tank.

I no longer have aptasia, haven't had for at least a year, and CBB is a couple of years old. Eats frozen out of my hand.

I'd try the peppermint shrimp first if I were you. They are cheap and easy to feed because they eat anything.

I'd retreat them again with the same stuff, sometimes it takes more than one treatment based on how well you doused the area the first time.

I went to the drug store and got a hypodermic needle. I make a thick kalkwasser paste with ro water, stick it in the microwave for 20 seconds , draw the hot kalk solution into the syringe , then inject them . This usually works the first time for me but sometimes I have to hit them twice.

Best thing I got out of my box of Aptasia X was the nifty syringe. I like the angled tip for sticking it to them! The stuff in the bottle didn't seem to do much. Almost all of mine came back a few days later, ticked off and stronger than ever.

The kalkwasser paste is very effective (never heard of warming it up though!) and before I heard of that I used straight lime juice. Works great as long as you punch the syringe into the body of the aptasia.

I LOVE using Joe's Juice. It works GREAT! I use it and it's never harmed anything in my tank except the aptasia. I picked up a hypodermic needle from the CVS pharmacy and use it to put the Joe's Juice on the aptasia. It make the aptasia dissolve immediately. I hope this helps. Thanks.

it wont eat them unless you starve it....i used to work at alamo...and we had one of our reefs that got an infestation of them...so we put a copperband in...and we didnt feed it...2 days passed and the copperband started eating them.....so they only eat them if its a last resort kind of thing
