hitchhiker....

My tank has been up and running for about 6 weeks now, but these orange things just appeared on my rock about 1 week after I started. What are these things?

do they move around? any way you could get a clearer pic?

from this one i would guess (assuming they do not move) some kind of snail eggs or a sponges......

I have some, actually a lot, of yellow encrusting sponge that kinda looks like that. Kinda hard to tell though without a better shot.

Are you talking about the two spots next to the shell? If so I have some orange zoos that look like those.

Yes I am talking about the 2 orange things next to the shell. They don't move and they look just like zoos to me but I didn't think that they could hitchhike in on LR. They open and close and are flat flower looking things.

Yeah, those are orange zoas and yes, they can hitchhike. I was studying that photo for five minutes thinking, "only orange thing I can see are those two zoas..."

Sorry, I didn't notice the two little zoas sitting next to the shell. Mine spread like wild fire and so will yours as long as your water quality is good and you have good lighting.
