I have a Bubble Tip Anemone because they are supposed to be the easiest to take care of. Ritteri and Sebae are some of the harder ones to keep alive and happy. I also have a false perc and he started hosting my BTA within 2 weeks of putting my anemone in the tank. I'd like to see what some of the experts say because I was actually going to post today asking how often you need to feed it. I am feeding mine DTs Live Phytoplankton, Cyclopeeze, and also have a frozed seafood that I feed it as well.

Also, since false percs are mostly captive bred, its hit or miss if they actually host an anemone or not.

I also have a BTA. My setup is not particularly fancy (30g, cpr bakpak skimmer w/media, hob filter with pura pad and "cryptic" baskets of rubble). My percula hosts happily and the BTA has been looking better and better as the days go by. I've had the BTA for about 3 months now.

I've had two polar opposite experiences with tank-raised clowns over the years. The first time, I picked up two tank-raised juvenile false percs that hosted in my LTA in less than a week. The second time I bought a pair, one of them finally found the anemone after he'd been in the tank for about three MONTHS, and his buddy never did figure out what that anemone was for. From what I've read of other folks' experiences, I think the odds are in your favor, but it does take a little luck, too.

Speaking from personal experence this is what happend to me. Went to the LFS and bought a Sebae Anemone wouldnt stick itself to anything even tried trapping it in a corner to make it stick and it died after like 1 week and my tank raised clowns look like they were afraid of it. Waited a few weeks and went to River City to get a Green Bubble Tip Anemone the size of a golf ball and was like $20. Took him home and he pretty much instantly stuck to a rock. Two weeks went by and the clowns still didnt want to host. Went and bought a Maroon Clown and he hosted in about 45min. Today the Maroon Clown AND the False Perculas host in it together but it took over a month. Fed the Anemone a "Silverside" and 2 Krill every other day and now is the size of a foot ball! hope this helps. Most people say its impossible to keep a maroon with a percula but no problems here!
