I like the new banner at the top. However, the red bar for "stay updated" is pretty bright compared to the rest of the page and seems distracting. If anything, I would place the red banner on the "store" link.

One thing that may be nice is to offer starter packages (not necessarily discounted) for what would be common for a certain sized/types of tanks. Great for the beginner.

i will look into the red banner change. the packages i think are problematic because they are just designed for the generic tank, and don't take into account how many fish/rock and type of substrate the actual tank has. Additionally the age of the tank is very important in determining the right crew, whether they want hermits or not, etc...so we do custom crews now that are specifically tailored to the individual tank.
