Hello, I purchased a crocea clam a few days ago. It's about 3.5" and bright blue. Unfortunately, I have noticed discolored spots which have grown since I purchased it.
My temp, salinity, calcium are fine and the tank has two 175w MH with two T5 actinic blubs. The clam has a quick response to shadows.
The link below is a picture of the clam at it's present state.
Thanks for the help!!

It should be fine once it acclimate to your tank. One of mine was like that when i had it up high, but it went back to nice purple and blue , when i moved it back down to the sand. Just give it some times and it will color nicely .

So its been two weeks now. My clam still seems to be in good health but the spots you see in the picture persist. Not sure how to help this guy out....any suggestions would be great.

could you circle a "spot"? It looks super healthy to me. For comparison....

Sure thing. It's the small areas without color. Prior to it being in my tank, the entire clam was that nice blue color.

Hmmm...probably just a bit of discoloration from the stress of moving to a new tank; I've seen it before. These spots should color back up within a few weeks, but if you want to accelerate the process turning off the pumps once or twice a day and target-feeding the clam with phyto may help.
