Man if it was younger I'd be all over it. We just lost our 12yo female a few weeks back, but I don't know how an adult wil do with our male boxer.

he doesnt have any papers.
the only problem that i know of is that he hates dog food n must be fed house food.
he weighs about 50-60#s
when i got him in april i took a stool sample n nothing was found that is the extent of his vet check
im a home health nurse bought him from a patient that didnt tell me much but that she couldnt take care of him
i havent seen any breathing problems or problems with his folds
i have him with a min schnauzer right now he lets the schanuzer play with his ears n he doesnt do anything to him.
my 2yr old rode around the house on his back
my 1 yr old pulss on him and he doesnt bite him

Awwww.......he is so cute! These dogs are so loyal, and if you are lucky to find one with out allergies, well worth the money. Ours are rotten. If we only had more room........

This one is mine, he's awesome. Names Brucey, great dispostion, weighs about 80 lbs, and I strongly urge you to get him off table food and onto a good dog food.

hey abe i'm a native victorian...brucey looks awesome, i have a 3 yr. old female named lola and weighs about 50 lbs. I was thinking about getting her a playmate. They're great loyal dogs mine just sheds alot. I agree with the table food it's really bad but the previous owner must not have known better.

I agree with triggerman I got the dog in april he was skinny n I have been trying to bulk him up since then. I just don't have the time he needs to find just the right food he wants I've tried the food mrsbigbird suggested royal canine for bulldogs n he still won't it eukanuba, pedigree, purina can't think of the rest.

If he set on eating table food try some of the raw food diets. They are healthier than some dogfoods and certainly healthier than cooked food with lots of grease and stuff. Diets can be found online.

Raw chicken is better and cheaper. See if you can get him to eat ground chicken first, then slowly add in some chicken necks. You can cut them into small chunks. Yogurt will help with digestion until his stomache acid adjusts to handle raw bones. The raw chicken neck bones don't splinter...they are softer raw than they are cooked...NEVER COOKED BONES. But the necks also have the right meat to bone ratio. You can add organ meat and pureed veggies in as you go along, testing to see what he likes.

I've been feeding raw for 9 years. My female Rott came down with bone cancer 16mths at age 9. We amputated and did chemo and despite only a 5% chance of it not spreading, it hasn't and I attribute it to the healthy diet. My friends Rott was diagnosed the same time, 8yrs old, she did the same treatment and lost her five months later. My girl will be 11yrs old in November.

I've never heard of a dog that would rather starve to death than eat a big bowl of Pedigree smothered in gravy.

If your vet has already pronounced him healthy, then it must be behavioral. I've been hooked lately on dog shows like The Dog Whisperer and It's Me or The Dog. Recently there was a show with a little yorkie that would only eat people food.....from the table....literally standing on the dining room table...and the owner would slightly chew pieces of meat then feed it to the dog, like it was a baby bird or something. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. The owner claimed that the dog for years now would not eat dog food and would not eat from a bowl on the floor. Well, by the end of the show that dog was eating regular dog food from a dog bowl on the ground.

The trick was to slowly switch the dog from people food to dog food by making the dog food super enticing. The trainer took wet dog food, mixed with a bit of the people food, cooked it with garlic in a skillet until it was warm and very "smelly". Then she got down on the floor and hand fed the dog. Anyhoo, within days the dog was eating wet food and the owners were thrilled and amazed.

I've been through similiar situations with my cat Zuri who's had several surgeries that have affected his appetite. When I can't get him to eat I spoil the little beastie by slow cooking chicken with a bit of garlic, boullion, and letting the whole thing simmer for half a day until it is basically chicken mush. Without fail it works each time to kick start his appetite and get him back to dry food.

Wow sorry to see that the local MAASTARDS did not just reply to your "for sale" thread with questions relating only to the item being sold as per forum rules, but instead lambasted you into regret and remorse, as so often is the case. Your "ALL CAPS" shows your frustration at trying to make an honest effort to rehome your pet only to be told about everything you are doing wrong.

I'm hoping that you had better luck elsewhere in rehoming your pet and that's why you are no longer offering here.

oh no mike i hate to type and to type in all lower case looks funny to me but ya i was a little mad. i took the dog in cause the last owners weren't doing a good job and it my favorite breed of dog. i figured they didnt have the money to feed a lrg dog that he is so i took him tried different foods added yogurt to it but he would only lick it off the food and not eat the food i just figured that someone else would have more time to sit and feed him right i only did what i had to do to keep him alive. but thats ok we all do things that r not by the book. i just didnt want to say the dog eats fine and the new owners get him home and he wont eat and blame me for that so i put the truth out there about him no lies n i got bashed but thats ok no hard feelings im going to try to keep him one more time n see how it goes.

interesting to hear the other perspective..... to me it just seemed that people were trying to help you or anyone who bought the dog by giving ideas of how to get the dog healthy. i didnt read one post that bashed you in any way - if i had, i would have moderated it.

sorry to barge into your thread, i just thought this needed to be addressed.

I think he is a good looking dog and i hope everything works out for you! My parents have French Mastiffs and they both have a problem keeping their food down! They have done everything they can to keep these dogs healthy! Sometimes you just have to play the cards you are delt! Keep on keepin on!
