I was wanting to ship fish to someone in another state, but I don't have an oxygen bottle. Does anyone have one that they'll let me rent?
Thanks.

I bet if you went to the LFS you usually buy from, they'd let you put some oxygen in a bag, if they charged you, I doubt it would be much.

If i remember right, at some sporting goods stores, they sold like really small oxygen bottles disposable kind. I dont remember where in SA i saw that.... look on ebay at "POD Portable Oxygen" to get an idea of what im talking about.

I saw replacement O2 tanks for under $8 (for the mapp gas welding kit) at home depot that look like they'll work... basically hook it up to a nozzle, not light it and just use the valve to adjust how quick it flows lol...

I use to breed cichlids and spent a couple of years shipping fish that I sold on ebay.

Here's what I used:

BAG BUDDIES:

The first water conditioner with fish calmer that comes in easy-to-use, mess free tablets. Protects fish by reducing stress, promoting slime coat, removing chlorine, neutralizing harmful metals and adding beneficial electrolytes. Plus, with the added fish calmer, fish stress is further reduced. Just one tablet in fish bag water also releases oxygen into the fish bag and ensures fish arrive home safely, in quality condition and better overall health. This is a must when shipping fish!

I heard mixed reviews on bag buddies...

Well, I used them for years, religiously, shipping fish to northern states and don't have any mixed reviews to give :)

Before I used the bag buddies, Pet Smart would hook me up and fill my bags just as long as I was buying something.
