buying a tank

are there any questions i should ask or is there anything i should look out for? i dont want to get screwed over.

If I were you, I would post a wanted ad in the forums. People on this site will hook you up with a complete set up for what many stores charge for just the glass and stand.

Wait a sec, I think I may have misunderstood your post, find out the age, why the seller is selling, if it leaks, what problems, if any, it has. A truthful seller will let you know about any issues, but just in case, carefully inspect every aspect of the tank, and make sure everything looks good, if not, don't buy it.

Important questions,

What Age, brand, condition (scratches, seems look ok?) Has it even been treated with copper (dont want it if you go reef).

Thats just for the tank only.

Once you get into equipment thats another set of questions.
