Well Im both a fan of Saltwater and Freshwater aquariums. Kept fresh for over a decade now. Both are fun if you ask me. Fresh; depending on the route you go can be easy to just as difficult or more than salt. You have community tanks, Cichlids- American and African, Planted tanks etc..... You could drill then tank for either fresh or salt. For fresh run a wet/dry. For salt a sump. Way to many options out there for one to tell you what to do with it, haha.

Something about that tank looks like an excellent planted fw tank to me.

Not sure on the exact footprint but that looks like one of the old Oceanic flatback hex tanks. What is it about 35 gallons? I'd make it into a planted tank and put a few medium size angels in.

I'm seeing saltwater. Cichlids and plants are cool, but they have their place, and that place is second to a reef tank....hehe.
