I am looking to buy a RO/DI filter. Anyone have experience to pass on. What should I look for? I have seen everything from $70 to $700. here is a link to one that seems to be the best bang for the buck. http://filterdirect.com/index.php?cPath=21 the rd6102 is actually listed at $105 new on Ebay. thanks in advance.

I now own 3 RO/DI units. Here's my advice:

Go to Buckeye, and spend +/- $200, shipped. If you spend $100 now, you'll spend the $200 in a year. I just did that with Buckeye. Their product AND support is outstanding. If you go with a cheap one, you'll still have TDS of around 5 - 10 on a regular basis.

do you have a particular model. How many gpd does it put out?

ONLY buy the 75gpd unit. The 100gpd is only 90% efficient, and the 75 is something like 96-98%. Your DI resin will last 3x as long. You could get the big unit, but the auto shutoffs don't work over 100gpd.

I use the Filter guys. They have great service and prices. They have a thread on reefcentral with lots of happy customers. If you give them a call, Jim will walk you through what you need.

I second or third Buckeye Field Supply. Go to the sponsors page and go to their website. Russ is the contact person for Buckeye. They have great customer service and as said, you can get a kick butt 3 stage ro/di filter for aprox $200 w/shipping. They also have a good FAQ page that will answer general and specific questions regarding water filtration.

Thanks for all the help. I called both places, I did not here from Russ until this mourning and had already ordered a reef plus I from Jim. Talking to both guys, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
