Dosing Vitamin C

There is a interesting article on dosing Vitamin C on reefcentral specifically in the Zoas Forum. From what ive read and seen on there the results look promising. Has anyone on Maast dosed vitamin C if so what do you think about it....

Meh..... I would be careful on the dosages for your sized aquarium! A little is alot! :)

It seemed to handle the black ich problem that I had. Once I stopped dosing, it came back with a vengeance. I ended up buying a wrasse.

yea, i most likely would not. My corals seem to be doing great. More than anything im curious to see if any maastard have done this.

We've done it. We occasionally get this weird issue with a couple of different kinds of zoas where some of them got a little slimy looking and closed. The vitamin c dosing seemed to clear it right up. It went away for a good long while (probably around three months) then has recently come back. We just started dosing again a couple of weeks ago.

We even throw a tiny little bit in our 20 gallon too, although I don't know that it really does much of anything in that tank.

i did once my corals were having trouble and i dosed my tank with it and my corals were fine a week or so later.

When I was in high school (a long long time ago), I based my science fair project on the effects of Vitamin C and sea urchin eggs. It was a good excuse to get a saltwater aquarium - back then it was high tech with undergravel filters and dead coral for decorations. :bigsmile:
