Morning,
I have 2 Koralia3 on my 55gal for the fear of having too much flow I've set them up on my ligtning timer. so one is on during the day while the other is on at night with my moonlights.
Am I doing the right thing? or should I leave both of them "on" during the day, then have one of them "off" at night? that way my there isn't alot of movement in the tank, so my fish can sleep calmly.

thank you for reading my post

How much rock do you have? What type of fish and coral? I dont think you have to much flow! I have 120lbs of rock in my 90 gallon and i plan to run 2 koralia 4s one on each end, and 1 koralia 3 on the back! I let mine run day and night! The fish can hide in the rock to get out of the flow!

sorry for not giving enough info. I have a 214w light fixture over my 55gal with a 120gal coraline protein skimmer. I only have 6 fish (1-bicolor pseudocromis 1-false percula clown 1-yellow tang 1-hippo tang 1-red hawk and 1-picaso triger) I have about 80lbs of rocks and the Koralia3s are on each side of the tank. I do have several type of zoas and don't know all of their names (some came with rocks I've purchased) I do have neon green zoas, orange zoas, green skirt zoas, gsp, Galaxea, Candycane, Torch, trumptet, Dark/green/chocolate pollyps, hammer coral, and last night I saw a small starfish in my tank that I never knew I had.
The main reason why I decided to reduce my flow is because whenever I turn off everything for feeding all of my Pulsing Xenias open up. But as soon as I turn all flow back on, they close up. I've tried to move that rock around to different location, but it's always the same end result.
I hope that I gave enough enough information

I forgot to ask, do you have the flow adapters on the powerheads? I dont! The flow is much more random and it spreads out nicely thru the tank! xenia normally likes alittle flow. You just have to find the right spot for them! I dont keep xenia cause it grows like weeds! The fish you have like the flow so keep it on! JMO!

Try angling your Koralias at a diagonal on each end so the flow slices through the tank like an X. Then move your corals around until they are happy. They all have to find their sweet spot.

It's hard to have too much flow. Some corals may take a while to adapt, but the more flow the better IMO

We had a K2 & K3 on our 55gal. Everything was going great. I agree with what was mentioned above, your corals need to find their sweet spot.

Now we need to upgrade and increase our flow for our 125gal.
