I am looking for an ID on the latest hitch hiker in the tank. I know it’s not the best shot in the world, found him again today after seeing him late last night.
About the creature from the newly nano:
Size: about 1/4 in dia. and when fully extended about half an inch in height
Shape: cylinder
Speed: so far clocked at 2 inches per hour on open live rock, no documented sites on speed on sand bed
Color: brownish\red in the day, under the nano moon lights the spikes (?) covering the top appear to be a neon green
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bri

I agree it looks like a polyp, but it is hanging out right below some green stars polyps, but since the lights went out he is already moving out. I will try to get another pic of it.

It is a pest anemone- you want to get rid of it - the divide quickly....hope it didn't come from my tank!

It might, its on that curved rock that had the mushrooms on it. Time for it to die then.

You defiantly want to get rid of it ASAP. I rea someone on the forums suggest burning off pest anemones, and I tried it out recently. You may want to use this method as well. Just remove the rock, put a flame from a lighter to the anenome and burn it off, clean that portion of the rock and replace to tank.
Good luck.

I had the little punk in a bag, lost while bring him to the top. Cant find him now, will have to wait a few hours and see where he pops up. If not will have to treat the tank I guess.
Thanks for the ID everyone,

Littlewrentx, not sure if it came from your tank or not. But found another one today, and got that little sucker to. I made mention of it so you can check your tank just to be sure, hate to have\know anyone that might have these especially after reading up on them. Now if I can just figure out if the noise from the tank is a pistol shrimp or not.
