pro. skimmer

I need help tring to figure out if my skimmer is working right. it dont fiz up like I think it should. it holds water. someone told me to clean it with vineger. i did and ran it with it the skimmer fizzed up but as soon as I placed it back in the sump, nothing.. let me say I have no fish or nothing in my tank I am just a starter.

what skimer is it and on what tank?

btw is there saltwater in the tank or regular tap water/RO water?

What type of skimmer is it?

Sounds like the air injector is clogged or not attached properly.

My skimmer didn't do much until i actually had fish and food etc.
