Found a cool mod for those of us who run these. They are already great because of the price and flow, but you can make them better apparently

Im thinking about it. Im really surprised to see that know one else has posted to the thread. Making mod to equipment is one of the cool things to do in the hobby...

No its taking a MJ 1200 impeller putting it in the Hydor 4 which increases the power.

I already am calling around for parts. :p IDK if I will be able to find the impellers local, but I am trying to call AD, their phone is busy.

I've read that you can mod them with a vortech impellar. I guess its suppose to double output.

Ok, so no hobby store carries the plastic props, but I found them for 2.99 online, so Tab ordered two of them for me yesterday, and I picked up a MJ1200 from Jason at AD yesterday for 6 dollars. I just need one more and I will be set. :)

I think I read in that thread that you could use the sure flow set up.

I thought about it and what I was gonna do was this....

Purchase Koralia4, MJ1200 and sureflow kit.

Use the larger prop/mag on the MJ1200 to have the modded MJ
Take the smaller prop as well as the original impeller from the MJ and use in the K4

This would give me two super high flowing powerheads!

I have been debating this as well, although I think 5,000 gph in a 75 will be plenty. :p

I actually dont have any 4's. In the 39g I have a 3 and a 2, but im sure there is something I could do....
