Has anyone used the solaris lighting?

Several of us want to, but the present cost and possible near future price reduction keep many of us from investing in LED systems.

I think I need to do a new cost benefit analysis with the fuel surcharge increase to the electric bill.

It would be great to hear of someone who did take the plunge.

a lot of the reviews out on the web are mixed. There is a great deal of mediocre reviews that I could find.

I recently decided to pass on them and go with halides and T5 combo. I think LED is the way of the future but after doing the research and reading all the problems I would not touch solaris with a ten foot pole. There are a few other companies coming out with these LED lights and if they put out a decent product then solaris will go out of business and your warranty won't be worth anything.

Some of these don't work out of the box and the 10 year bulb life seems to only be in the imagination of those who build these lights. I think the salt environment has much more impact then they yet to account for in their design.

Sorry to be so harsh but I took hard look at the 72 inch spread and that was my conclusion.

I've heard rumors that some high light sps can not be housed under LEDS.

Just some food for thought i guess.

Cheers,
