OK...I am having a panic attack because I need to go away and leave my salties...I have asked everyone I know that has ever owned even a guppy their opinion...now I need to hear from the Big Guys!!

I will feed Thursday morning before my flight...I will be gone Friday,Saturday,Sunday,Monday and return on Tuesday, where I can feed again. That is 4 full days with no feedings...maybe???...I have a 46g with a coral beauty, citron goby,B&W clown and six line wrasse, then packed with softies only...the other is a 36g with the dreaded carpet anenomes and Clarkiis:whew:, the mandarin, an engineer goby and a psuedo, also filled with softies.

I can have someone come in only one time, or purchase auto feeders??

LMK!!!

One feeding would definately help, and is likely OK. I'm lucky, the lady who works for me is next door, and she feeds the fish/dogs when we are gone!

I'm sure someone in your area wouldn't mind dropping by once or twice for a feeding if you were willing to do that, just a suggestion.

We have been on vacation the past three weekends, and it has been a tad unsettling. Make sure you feed, then make double and triple sure that your top offs are on, plugged in, and do not evaporate more than what you will have in there for a four day period. Keep your house temp cool, and if you have any 6 dollar fans for your crutch, go buy more and install them to make sure there is some backup in case of failures. "Now try to relax, it is a vacation!"(repeat as needed)

If you can not find anyone to feed your fish, you can always get a electronic feeder for flake food. The fish will survive off of that. Erik made a great point about the house temp. Most people turn off their air con while on vacation. You'll need to leave it on so the tank does not get too hot.

If you do have someone come over to feed, Peter made a great point about the top off water. Either mark a line on the sump or display (if you do not have a sump) so they know where to fill it to.

Try the white pizza and the broccoli pizza, you can buy it by the slice. I grew up on the other side of the Holland Tunnel. Don't buy pretzels from the street vendors, trust me on this one. The Hot dog street vendors are safe and the hot dogs taste pretty good.

While your in NYC, I am sure you will end up in Grand Central Station, go to the food court and you have to try some of "junior's cheesecake". It is the best!! NYC was alot of fun for me and my wife a few years ago.

Your fish will be just fine without feed for 4 days. There are times when we leave our fish off feed in a static environment for weeks on end without feed. Fish respond well. I would say you could probably leave your fish off feed for 2 weeks without ill effects.
