I lost all three of my #4s yesterday. They are still functioning, but holy shockfest are they going bad. They are on two seperate power strips so I am kind of at a loss for words. I am going to replace the strips today, but since we're going on vacation again, I can only buy one #4!

Yeah, it got a little splish splash under the tank while doing a water change. Nice little 180 dollar poke to the wallet.

At least the cuttle tank is on the brink of completion! :)

Hydor Koirala #4 is a powerhead pump! They have a 1,2,3,4 models. The nuber represent the GPH flow, 1 being the lowest and 4 the highest!:D

I just picked up a couple of #4s from B&B. The bright side of it all is that I will be able to mix salt very fast!!! I was afraid to go on vacation without mass flow. :D

What were the pumps doing? b/c you said they still functioning, but going bad. Are they just vibrating without spinning the impeller?

Hydor, after having released their original Koralia models (http://www.reefbuilders.com/2007/01/19/hydor-koralia-full-review/), then to go and make pumps that are controllable (http://www.reefbuilders.com/2008/06/17/as-expected-hydor-wavemaker-4-released/) has announced their newest line. The Magnum Koralia are to push even more flow in your aquarium by still using low wattages. The Hydor Koralia Magnum model 5 pushes 1850 GPH using only 8 watts. The Hydor Koralia Magnum model 6 pushes 2200 GPH using sipping 10 watts. The Hydor Koralia Magnum model 7 pushes 2700 GPH while using 12 watts and finally the Hydor Koralia Magnum model 8 pushes water at 3250 GPH while eating up 19 watts. Overall the stats look nice, however, we would like pricing to go along with this and a firm US release date.

They came back and said they are realeasing in the US mid-August

I think you just need to weigh your options. Korallias are nice from what I hear, but a small investment with a higher fail risk would be a deterrent for me. IMO I'd stick with a tried and true manufacturer and spend the extra bucks....but thats just me.

Are your #4's on a Timer to come on and off? If so that could cause some issues as well.
