This is a great read for those of you who haven't seen it on What is really in your salt.

Yes I have seen it before, but was recently trying to find it, I just switched from IO to the coralife Reef Pro (well I ordered it anyway) or something like that, guarantee 450 Ca. IO was only about 380 when I mix it.

Thanks for posting!

Opps went back and looked and it is Red Sea Coral Pro that I ordered, not coralife, figured I'd try it

So, all things considered, which one do y'all like the best. That is, of course, with respect to the listed data results, price, ease of use (packaging, mixing, etc.), and availability.

I use IO, and I'm not thrilled with the relatively high level of phosphate. Otherwise, it does pretty well comparatively.

I'd go out on a limb and say that Coralife is the best overall, though. I've used it before, and don't remember what it cost. I think I got it on sale, though.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I use Red Sea Coral Pro except when my Calcium gets to high then I use IO to lower it and then switch back to Red Sea because my corals seem to do the best with it. What works in one aquarium doesn't mean it will work perfect for every one, that is whay there are so many different salt company's. Kind of like the Ford, Chevy, Dodge Arguement.

Coralife always leaves a gross brown residue on my saltwater mixing trash can and pumps. The calcium is 560+(tested with salifert) and magnesium is too low. So I have to dose magnesium to the tank twice a week to keep my lps and softies looking their best. I am switching to red sea salt as soon as I run out of coralife. It works good other than the high calcium and low magnesium. I guess if you have a lot of sps it would be a great salt to use.
