Ok. So I have been wondering and wondering why my SPS arent looking the greatest... To my discovery even after looking many times before without noticing... I have red bugs on my SPS. So, How to treat? I hear people saying Interceptor. I read on www.Melevesreef.com that treating the entire tank is not that bad. Heres the reading:
http://www.melevsreef.com/redbugs.html
Now the only question I have is: Do I do a water change after each dose? It says dose 3 times, once every 7 days. Do I do a water change 24hours after each dose? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. This is in my 55g with a Mandarin Goby. Should I get a bottle of Tiggerpods to feed him everyday with a baster to keep him Fat and Happy since the pods will die off? Any Input would be great! I have done searches here and Dont see any real good resolution without worries. Melev seems to be worry free doing his... Should I follow what he did? Thanks in advance...

I didnt do a water change after treatment but I did put in some fresh carbon. I also only did one treatment only and all redbugs are gone. Make sure to remove all crabs and shrimp if your gonna treat the whole tank.

So how much of the pill should I use. Im possibly going to get the rest of what you got from Kristy.. I have a 55g with a 30+/- sump. 1/4 of a pill?

1/4 sounds good. You also need to run the medication through you skimmer or they will come back.

the thing is that its going to kill your copepods and all that. id take out inverts as well. i know people say that theyve gotten lucky and had some snails and hermits survive but i wouldnt chance it.

i would look for a friend with a large tank that can temporarily house your mandarin so after you treat the tank you can get your pod population established again

When running your skimmer make sure there is no air being injected. Otherwise it will skim out the medication. One treatemnt will kill all the red bugs in theory, the second treaments are for any hatching eggs that the bugs leave behind.

Yeah, I read Melevsreef's article. I understand how to do it, He just didnt give dosages. Thats all. I am waiting until next week to do it though, I start a new Job this week and want that to go well. Next weekend I will start the treatments. As I know redbugs are a Long term pain, and usually wont kill them within a week.

i dose three large dog pills for 400 gallons total. i just had to dose, but usually, that dosage gets em all in one dose and i have never lost a coral or fish bc of dosing.

I had a 70 gal and dosed 1/2 the pill. One week later I would dose 1/4 and another week later the other 1/4 pill. I would run carbon and do small water changes(~10%)

I was just going to do 1/4 of the pill the first treatment, wait a week, do another 1/4 pill, wait another week, then do the last treatment 1/4 of a pill. Then after a week after that do a 30% water change.(would be about time for another water change anyway)
