HAHA Well it will be for a few days while I do the tear down, tile the floor, and set-up the new 215g RR DSA (Deep Sea Aquatics) HOPEFULLY without killing everything in it! I'm still waiting on bulkheads, is the only reason there aren't corals in there yet. But, they are supposed to be here tomorrow (fingers crossed) so I will start filling the pool with livestock tomoorow, then I can start tileing the floor, that will take a day or 2 for everything to dry, plus I still have to do the plumbing and all before I can fill the 215 (fingers crossed it don't leak!) Here are some pics of the stand, I've built so far. I still have to make doors, and add a couple trim pieces. AHHHH what a way to spend my vacation!

I'll try and keep this up-to-date as I get a quick minute.

Enjoy!

Ray: 72x24x29 Did I already mention? The stand is 40" tall and the total height of the top tank rim is 69.5" The sump is an ACE built approx 90g max mybe 75g in use (Thanks Ace, finally after nearly 2 years I'm gonna put this thing to use)

You had not mention but my old 210 now Mike and Kristys was 7x2x2 so I eyeballed the pic and figured It had to be close

Yeah if I'm not mistaken, I think it is a 240g tank, minus the overflows brings it down to 215g. My 180 is 72x24x24. (and will make a darn nice refugium/dsb/frag tank soon!)

Do you have a picture of your sump? The tank I am putting together is an Oceanic 215 with the same dimensions. It is still cycling and we still have to do the final wiring.

Not yet, I am in the process of pluming the sump and then I'll try and get some pics of it posted.

GREAT NEWS!! My return 3/4" bulkheads don't fit! I think I got the "heavy Duty" size. Now I have to run to Hill Country Water Gardens in the am and get ones that do.

Question: I hear of ppl snapping the nut of the bulkhead overtightening, I assume they are just gut-n-tight, by hand I mean?

Yeah I about got it now (the tear down that is), there is nothing but sand in the 180. Funny thing is, the one fish I hated and "wanted-dead or alive", one I've tried netting, spearing, and trapping to no avail, the one that made me swear if I EVER caught it I would throw it as far into the field behind me as I could, ....................................is GONE!! That freakin Hawkfish has pulled a houdini on me, he is NOT in my tank, I did NOT transfer him to the pool, no sight of it on the floor, I saw it just minutes before catching the next to the last fish, and he vanishes! Well I hope he was tucked into the HUGE piece of Holey Rock I trew out in the yard. Fireants LOVE fish!!

Needed a break

Sorry no pics, no time! Later, Thanks!

Rob,

Congrats on the tank!

WATCH your bulkhead nuts - these aren't holding anything under pressure. Hand tighten, and if they still leak, tweak them slightly until they quit. It's easy to strip them out or bust a nut. Can do that LIFTING the beast too...
