got a black creature on a rock that i just saw today for the first time, about the size of a quarter and flat. Looks almost like a nudibranch but jet black, couple of antenna on it's anterior... is this a good guy or bad guy?

strange black hijacker???

Better watch the thread titles. J/K.

To avoid any risk, I'd remove from the tank if I could. Do you have a specimen tank or small QT tank to move it to so you can observe it better?

I've had one in my tank for a long time and hasn't bothered anything hides during the day and comes out mostly at night, presuming its the one that feeds on algae.

Its some kind of Scutus sp. as previously mentioned. These animals extend their mantle to mostly cover the white shell on top, which you can see as a tiny dot in your picture.
