I am starting to get back into the hobby after losing interest several months ago. I hope to start a new nano now that the reef bug has bitten again. I was thinking about a very simple tank that would require little money and work. I am modeling the nano after a great tank I saw on nano-reef.com: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=132714&st=0

I'm trying to pull this project off for as little cash as possible, please post any suggestions, I'm still new to the hobby.

I have a 20 gallon tank that I bough from CB Pets when it closed, would that work? The only problem with that tank is that it is currently running with some freshwater fish that I don't want to let go of at the moment. The other option is to buy a new tank.

Also, where could I buy the plexi gl***** Is it sold at Home Depot? Will they cut it for me? Can I cut plexi glass with my table saw?

Possible Equipment:
5-20 Gallon Tank (Help me decide!)
24 Inch T-5 Lighting, two bulbs (I have the fixture for the 20 gallon I may use)
Unsure on any filtration (The setup would have a built in fuge)
Maxijet for return from fuge

This is still all in the planning stage, so please post any advice or concerns,
Thanks!

I have read much success about those pico type 5g tanks. But the larger the better so Id say just get a used 20g tank, and do the same thing as the links tank. I cant remember, are you going with Pcs or T-5s?

Thanks for the quick response, I don't know what I would do without MAAST.

I think I will use a 20 gallon, as you suggested. I have one with a matching stand, sadly it is already occupied. I may move the fish in it now.

If I use a 20 gallon, I will be using a T-5 fixture that is 24 inches long with 2 bulbs.

Thanks again, all comments are greatly apreciated.
